Movement Disorders

Avenue Therapy & Wellness strives to be the leader in the treatment of Movement Disorders by maintaining strong relationships with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and our patients.  Ed is an attendee of the International Congress of Parkinson’s’ Disease and Movement Disorders, which is a high level program of lectures, hands on training and the learning of crucial measures for proper diagnosis of Movement Disorders.

Often times, due to the similarity of symptoms in movement disorders, a true diagnosis may be overlooked.   This can be detrimental to the patient’s ability to move and be independent.  There are several Parkinsonism traits and conditions that can easily be disguised as Parkinson’s Disease.  Failure to respond to medication often indicates that.  Ed has been instrumental in helping Neurologists and Internists better diagnose their Movement Disorder Patients so the right course of treatment and the best possible results can be achieved.

As an active participant in our Local Chapter of the NPF – National Parkinson’s Foundation, Ed lectures, attends high level educational forums on Movement Disorders and runs an “open for all”, Young Parkinson’s’ Group.  Our “Young Parkinson’s Group” meets every Monday and Thursday at 5pm in our Boynton Beach Clinic.  This group welcomes anyone under the age of 60, who has any neurological or auto-immune disease that affects their ability to move.  Avenue Therapy and Wellness’ philosophy is simple, “intense levels of exercise” promotes neuroplasticity; retraining of the brain.  We welcome you to come join us.
